Ingredients

Unit Conversions

  • 3 to 4 very ripe bananas
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Optional

  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease bottom of 9x5x3 loaf pan
  3. Mash 1.5 cups of bananas
  4. Beat sugar and butter in bowl
  5. Add eggs and beat until smooth
  6. Add bananas buttermilk and vanilla. Beat until smooth
  7. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until moistened (lumps are fine)
  8. Stir in nuts
  9. Pour into pan
  10. Bake 1hr 15 minutes
